Leanne Jordan
Director
Leanne Jordan currently serves as the Director for Heather’s House and the Technical Services Librarian at Jones Law Library. She has an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from Troy University, a Bachelor of Science in Business from Faulkner University, and Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Alabama. ​ Prior to joining the JSL Library team in November 2017, and opening Heather’s House in 2022, Leanne held the position of Program Director for six years at Hope Inspired Ministries, a local non-profit ministry. Mrs. Jordan has been in recovery from drugs and alcohol since 2012. ​ Leanne is married to Michael Jordan and they have a blended family of 4 daughters and 9 grandchildren!

Michael Jordan
President of the Board of Directors
Michael Jordan is the President of the Board of Directors for Heather’s House. He is an active member in the recovery community in Montgomery, and has been a member of Landmark Church for 20 years. Michael has been working at Landmark Church for 9 years as the Facilities Manager and he is a leader of the RSVP group. He has 30 years of experience in construction. This year he will celebrate 10 years in recovery. ​ Michael is married to Leanne Jordan and they have a blended family of 4 daughters and 9 grandchildren!

Emma Ellis
Vice President of the Board of Directors
Emma Ellis is excited to serve on the Board of Directors of Heather's House. She serves as the Marketing Coordinator and designs promotional materials for Heather's House. Emma has a Bachelor's of Arts in Foreign Language, a Master's of Education with a concentration in Spanish, and her Educational Specialist Degree as a Teacher Leader. ​ Emma currently resides in Florence, AL with her husband, Scott, their two dogs, and new baby, Judah. Emma is a teacher at Lawrence County High School and also teaches college Spanish classes. ​ Emma has worked with various non-profit organizations throughout her life. She knew and loved Heather, and Emma’s own life has been impacted by addiction. She is excited to be involved with such a special organization.

Karen Boan
Member Board of Directors
Karen Boan was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama and currently resides in Pike Road. She and her husband, Kenneth, have been married for 29 years, and they have three adult sons. They are members of Landmark Church in Montgomery. Karen received her Bachelor’s of Science in Education from Auburn University of Montgomery in 1994. She has experience in Marketing and Development in the non-profit sector, having served as the Director of Public Relations and Marketing for Alabama Christian Academy and then later as the Director of Marketing for a local non-profit, Hope Inspired Ministries. Karen now owns a women’s clothing boutique, Wisteria Cottage. She serves as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for children in the foster care system, and in other roles as a volunteer with other non-profits in the Montgomery area. She is a member of Leadership Montgomery Class XXXVI. With extended family members and friends who have battled addiction, Karen has a strong desire to help others on their journey to a healthier life.

Patti Adams
Member Board of Directors
​ Patti Adams has been devoted to the financing and development of multifamily housing since 1999. After graduating from Auburn University with a bachelor of science in finance, she had a longstanding tenure with a commercial lender financing multifamily housing nationwide. In 2012, Patti transitioned to the development and preservation of affordable housing across the southeast, leveraging low-income tax credits and partnerships with non-profit organizations. By partnering with local organizations, she provided avenues to reduce barriers for residents to access much needed social services. ​ Patti serves as the Multifamily Impact Manager at Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation. In this role, she blends her experience in the affordable housing industry with her passion for helping others by advocating for policy change and the expansion of resident services with state housing agencies. Outside of work, she enjoys worshiping with her family at Landmark Church, watching her children participate in sporting activities, volunteering with Hope Inspired Ministries, and engaging with a local women’s empowerment organization. Patti has been in recovery from alcohol since June of 2022 and is an active member of recovery groups in the Montgomery area.

Lee Burt
Member Board of Directors
Lee Burt is a native to Montgomery, growing up in the capitol city. Lee graduated from Montgomery Academy in 1989. After high school, he attended Auburn University of Montgomery, earning a Bachelors’ of Science in Business Administration.Lee began his career working with Residential Mortgage Corporation, as a loan processor and loan originator. He worked with Merrill Lynch, as a Financial Advisor, from 1998 through 2004. Lee has been with Burt Steel, Inc since 2004, a family owned business since 1947. He is an Assistant Vice-President of Purchasing and Quality Control.​Lee lives in Mathews, AL, with his wife Laura and has two children. His son, Jack, is a Junior at Rhodes College and his daughter, Sara Turner, is a Freshman at Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School.​Lee has volunteered with several Non-Profit organizations throughout his career and is a Past President of Rotary International.
